Jean reaches another milestone

Jean, along with her husband Eldred who have been married 63 years, witnessed the community’s exceptional growth from a small quiet town, to a booming industrial development zone.

WITH a lifetime of memories in the heart of Zululand, Empangeni resident Jean Williams last month had every reason to celebrate as she reached another exceptional milestone.

With an 80th birthday now under her belt, Jean, who arrived in Zululand more than five decades ago, has been a valued member of the community.

She, along with her husband Eldred of 63 years, witnessed the community’s exceptional growth from a small quiet town to a booming industrial development zone.

Family life
Blessed with four children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, Jean is the perfect portrayal of a family woman and loving mother.

While raising her children, she enjoyed lending a hand at the local veterinary hospitals and was the first school bus driver in the area.

Her husband was also one of the first members of the Richards Bay NSRI and the two have proved to be a power couple when it comes to the needs of the community.

Jean is known for her kind and caring personality and is always prepared to offer assistance to those in need, never failing to give her two cents worth when it comes to advice.

Her unselfish nature and willingness to always place others before herself is what makes her so unique.
