Moving to the top is local based entertainer Jonty Stander

WHETHER on the dance floor, runway or on the small screen, triple threat Jonty Stander (19) is performing his way to the top and shining above the rest.

With a diversity of talents including modelling, dancing and acting, the rising young performer from Empangeni is already making waves in the entertainment industry,

He will be showcasing his talent during the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (ARTS) in the United States of America (USA) in July.

He was selected by talent scouts last year, after his killer performance at the Boardwalk Inkwazi showdown and is among the few to represent South Africa and perform during the show.

Since he received the exciting news Jonty has been hard at work raising-funds for the trip, and perfecting his skills for the biggest showdown in the world.

‘I love performing, and I can’t wait to show the world what I have to offer. I will be showcasing all my talents, and hopefully one of the scouts will see potential,’ he said.

ARTS is an organisation which has been making dreams come true for youngsters around the world.

It provides them with a stage to showcase their talent, and has launched numerous gifted artists into the world of entertainment.

Not only is Jonty set to make a name for himself in the world stage, but has recently joined one of the top SA talent companies, Just You Artists SA and moving to Johannesburg.

The company will assist him launch his career in television as well as open opportunities for his dance and modelling career.

‘They will help me with casting for adverts and other roles. For me the move is very important because most of the entertainment companies are based in Jo’burg, so it will be easy to be fully exposed to South Africa,’ he said.

The down-to-earth young lad is definitely no stranger to the entertainment scene and been part of various movements around KZN.

The former Empangeni High School pupil has hosted various dance shows including Phame Dance Camp and Battle of the Dance Crew.

Over the years, he has worked with the Richards Bay based group, The Nerdz, and recently released a music video titled, Respect my art.
