Mthandeni for an international musical

Local actor Mthandeni Mbambo selected for Afrika My Home musical

PERFORMING his way to the top is local actor Mthandeni ‘Mthah’ Mbambo (31).

The Ngwelezane-born entertainer has be selected to join the cast of the international musical Afrika My Home.

The theatre show is a story of the African continent. It highlights the continent’s highs and lows, and celebrations of sweet and painful events through music and dance.

Mthandeni will be in the forefront as narrator, alongside Mondli Makhoba of Uzalo and Abdul Khoza of the Mzansi Magic telenovela, The Road.

The show will be showcased in Cape Town,and Johannesburg, before the crew jet off to London.

‘I love theatre more than television, and I am thrilled they thought of me to be part of this huge project,’ said Mthandeni.

The emerging actor is part of Ferguson Films, and is definitely no stranger to the limelight.

He has been part of major SA productions including various theatre plays such as the SABC 1 soapie Uzalo, and was featured in the South African movie Skorokoro.

In 2007, he was featured by the famous DJ Bongs in his hit song Sobuye Sibonane.

He later formed his own kwaito group, NRBz – famous for their song Sekushod’osisi abathathu.

When he is not busy shooting scenes in studio, the hilarious but down-to-earth TV personality, is conducting acting workshops in Ngwelezane.
