A thrilling ride of motion effects

A 5D cinema was recently launched in Empangeni.

Now it’s time for Zululanders to fasten their seatbelts and take a ride into virtual reality, at Saphiwa 5D Motion Cinema situated at Five Ways Mall.

Targeting both adults and children, it offers a thrilling journey through motion and environmental effects.

Viewers sit on specially designed seats, and are provided with 3D glasses before they are taken on an exciting ride.

The experience begins with a slight shake as a roller-coaster ride starts its tumultuous journey along the rails.

It’s followed by an electrifying experience through features such as water jets, air, leg ticklers, flashing lights, bubbles and smoke blasts, accompanied by a surrounding sound system.

‘It’s not just the seats that make the movie come alive, there is artificial snow and smoke screens.

‘The audience gets to feel exactly what the characters are feeling. They go on a journey with the characters. If it is raining in the film, they will also feel the rain. ‘The show last about 6 to 12 minutes,’ said founder, Saphiwa Xhakaza.
