Richards Bay dancer goes international

Talisa Cornwall will dance at the 2016 ARTS Convention in Orlando, Florida.

VERSATILE performer Talisa Cornwall has danced her way onto the international stage after being scouted at the International Arts Talent Showcase in Durban earlier this month.

The Richards Bay High School matriculant caught the eye of international talent scout and director of ARTS Convention Kim Myers and will take centre stage at the ARTS Convention in June in Orlando, Florida, where artists showcase their craft in front of showbiz industry leaders.

These include producers, casting directors and agents from the New York Film Academy, Sony, Elite Model Management, Ford Model Management, Disney Entertainment, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Tyler Perry Studios.

The event is not a competition, but an opportunity and platform for people to launch an international career.

‘The IATS show was a great opportunity and I performed as a backup dancer for Nate Butler, a renowned American songwriter, music producer and recording artist.

‘He has worked with artists such as Luther Vandross, Victoria Beckham, the Cheetah Girls and is currently working with America’s Got Talent.

‘In the week of IATS, I did a casting and performed in a music video as a backup dancer for a song Nate Butler was producing.’
