LOCAL kwaito artists Deejay Shakes and Singel are back in Richards Bay after promoting their music in their hometown, Ladysmith.
The brothers are back on the local scene and are preparing to release a new single track next month.
According to Shakes, the move back home was vital to get back in touch with their communities, grow their fan base and also utilise a slot on their community radio station, Nqubeko FM.
‘I have always been passionate about radio presenting and it worked well with my love for music.
‘The presenting post created a platform for me to market and showcase our tracks and interact with the public,’ said Shakes.
‘Currently we are adding the final touches to our new hit song to be released in summer, which will take music lovers into the festive season with a funky, hip dance track.
‘The track will also feature up-and-coming Umlazi artist Miss Twagg.’
