Local rapper on the rise

KwaSokhulu poet and rapper Mlungisi 'Steezy Venomubuthi' Khumalo, released his first mixtape.

ZULULAND’S rising poet and rapper Mlungisi ‘Steezy Venomubuthi’ Khumalo released his first mixtape.

The 13-track album titled Africa is a mixture of poetry and hip hop music.

The emerging artist from the rural heart of KwaSokhulu worked with Tru Vilakazi from Mpumalanga, Dizaster Mbokazi Mzimkhulu and Sky Mthiyane.

‘This album is about my life and things I been through over the years. It is also about life in general, which most African can relate to,’ he said.

The 19-year-old energetic musician is currently doing his Bachelor of Education degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

‘I believe that education is key. I hope to inspire other young people in my area. I’m looking forward to grow myself as an artist, and fly the Zululand flag high.’
