AFTER seven missed calls, excited Richards Bay jazz artist Wandile ‘Bubblez’ Mnomiya finally received a call of a lifetime on Tuesday.
She recently auditioned for the nationwide musical search programme, The X-Factor, in Durban.
She made the cut from among 10 000 other hopeful young musicians and will join the 150 finalists selected for live auditions later this month.
She is now also in line for a recording deal.
She has already carved out a reputation and shared stages with the best in the business, such as Nomalanga Hlubi at the uMhlathuze Jazz Festival.
Earlier this year she scooped second place at the uShaka Marine talent search in Durban.
‘I had no hope of being selected, but I am excited and nervous at the same time. I’m glad they did not give up when they tried to reach me,’ said Bubblez.
