Second bonus point for eShowe

eShowe run riot in Stewart Shield rugby match against Empangeni

THE eShowe rugby team bounced back after losing their opening Stewart Shield game against Unizulu.

They won their match against eSkikhleni at Mick Kelly Park 34-0, giving them a bonus point win the following Friday, and this past Friday evening they convincingly beat Empangeni 75-0.

Playing with a depleted team, Empangeni were on the back foot from the first whistle.

At the break eShowe were 48-0 ahead with eight tries, four of which were converted.

Early in the second half it appeared Empangeni may make a comeback and score, but the eShowe defence held well.
eShowe scored another five tries, of which one was converted.

The score could have been much higher had eShowe’s Maduna brothers had their kicking boots on and converted the eight tries they missed.

eShowe will have a bye this weekend, but they are definitely not underestimating their opponents on Saturday, 5 May.

Pongola will be travelling to eShowe and the game will be at the eShowe Sports Club starting at 3pm.

This is sure to be a tough game for the home team who will have to pull out all the stops to stay ahead.
