Defending women’s champions Empangeni then showed the men’s side how it was done, when they beat Kadenza 4-1.

The experienced Vets women then educated the Unizulu team with a dominant 6-0 win in a one-sided affair that saw the Vets side play with no goalkeeper.

Mavericks and Unizulu men then closed off the day’s action with a fast, entertaining match-up that resulted in a 4-1 victory for Mavericks.

Club hockey will take a break over the long weekend, with teams getting back into action on Sunday, 6 May at Grantleigh.
