IT took just three rounds of lusty blows and tight defence from local professional cage fighter Martin ‘The Diamond’ de Beer to record his sixth win, a TKO victory over TC ‘Phantom’ Khusu in a bantamweight fight in Pretoria on Saturday.
The Garage Boys mixed martial artist counter-attacked a punch thrown by Khusu with a knee to the midsection of his opponent, which resulted in Khusu dropping to the mat.
De Beer pounced on top of his opponent and delivered a range of blows to the face, before the referee called the fight in De Beer’s favour.
De Beer had to work for this win after dropping Khusu to the mat in round one with a straight right punch, which saw the Johannesburg-based fighter recover and coming back in round two.
But De Beer’s experience carried him through.
De Beer has now won six and lost two fights in his career, with Khusu having two losses and one win under his belt.
