New head coach for Richards Bay football club

New head coach will see NRB boys bounce back

WITH a new head coach in charge, Richards Bay FC will resume their National First Division challenge today (Saturday) against Witbank Spurs.

The club has signed ex-Black Leopards coach Jean Louis Losciuto in a move aimed at changing the fortunes of the NRB outfit.

Losciuto, a previous assistant coach with the Nigerian national side, took Leopards to the brink of PSL promotion last season, failing at the final play-off hurdle.

Having seen the Bay boys play from the opposition dugout, Losciuto has wasted no time getting to know them better.

Following a friendly match in Tongaat on Tuesday, the Belgian national held a technical session on Wednesday morning, analysing the game and addressing strengths and weaknesses.

His commanding presence and ability to dissect the game went down well with the NRB squad, who are sure to respond where it matters most – on the pitch.

Assistant coach Sello Ntuli, who has acted as caretaker since the departure of former head coach Roger Sikhakhane, remains as Losciuto’s assistant.

Ntuli can hold his head up high after not losing a game during his period in charge, and he is 100% behind the new appointment.

‘This man (Losciuto) is highly qualified and I am going to learn a lot from him.

‘I am more comfortable in the assistant coach role and I believe the entire technical team will work together under our new coach to get the club where we should be.

‘We have been playing well with little luck on our side. I’m sure under our new coach the tide will turn and we will be giving our fans plenty to cheer about,’ said Ntuli.

The game kicks off at 3.30pm at the uMhlathuze Stadium.
