Soccer used for social impact

American soccer coaches assist young local players

THE football fields at the Central Sports Complex in Richards Bay were alive with action on Thursday when the visiting Woza Soccer Tour group presented a coaching clinic.

The group makes regular trips from America to foreign countries, with a twofold purpose.

One is to impart soccer skills and present opportunities of obtaining soccer scholarships from America colleges.

The other is to give American high school soccer players the privilege of participating in life-changing, soccer-based service trips to developing countries.

The power of soccer is used to educate, inspire, and mobilise youth to live healthy lives.

Featuring young local players between the ages of 10 and 18 years, aspiring to catch the eye of talent scouts, the clinic was arranged by the Mtuba Football Academy.
