Over 50 contestants gathered to show off their skills in front of a crowd of thrilled spectators and to compete against each other for some valuable prizes .
This well organised event, presented by Gerrit Loots and his team from Kingdom Community Church, has received much praise from the locals who enjoyed the festivities and vibe on the day.
Llewellyn Drummond took the first place in the skateboarding event, winning a brand new Signature skateboard.
Ben Knoetze (9), won his first ever competition taking the Junior Surfing U12 category.
Sarah Horlock won the longboarding event and Andrew Rowling won the Open Surfing title and a custom Signature surfboard in a close battle over Gregg Horlock.
Special mention must be made of all the Junior surfers who did very well in their first surfing competition.
The aim of the event was to bring people together to meet up and have some fun and build relationships, which was definitely achieved with people wanting to see this happen more often.
Special thanks to all the people from Kingdom Community Church and friends who served on the day and to Anton Knoetze, John Cawood, Lee and Cindy van Aswegen and Paul Scherzer of King Cetshwayo Surfriders for setting up heats and judging.
Thanks to the lifeguards for their support and a big shout out to Signature Surf and Skate, Indaba Lodge, Ritchie Ford and Pelican Island Surfriders store for the awesome prizes.
