The 2017 season started off with the CURRO regional trials, where the girls won all of their matches

THE Grantleigh School’s U13 girls hockey team, sponsored by the GFT Spar Group, has had an excellent season, going unbeaten with numerous players being selected for various KZN teams.

The 2017 season started off with the CURRO regional trials, where the girls won all of their matches.

They then competed in a tournament hosted by The Wykeham Collegiate, where they won five and drew two games.

The talented group of youngsters followed this up by claiming their third consecutive title at the annual Tiger Wheel and Tyre Festival hosted by Felixton College.

Four girls were rewarded for their form throughout the season by being selected for various provincial teams, which they will represent during the school holidays. They are Jordyn Louw, Michaela Hagemeier, Kelly Braithwaite and Jessica Sparks.

In total the team played 28 matches, winning 25 and drawing three.
