THE Zululand MMA Fight Championships will take place during the Zululand Trade Fair this year.
Come and witness the ferocity and spectacle of South African Mixed Martial Arts in the Motor Show marquee at 6pm on Friday, 30 June.
The fight night is hosted by local MMA club Garage Boys.
Local contestants include:
Piesang van Huizen: a pro-am bantam weight all-round fighter, Piesang specialises in kick boxing, wrestling and grappling.
Etienne van Wyk: previously from Johannesburg, Etiene specialises in MMA stand up.
Klein Jan: this Springbok wrestler joined the Garage Boys a year ago and doesn’t take any prisoners.
Brett Lundt: this new kid on the block is a specialist in kick boxing and mixed martial arts. He is a formidable fighter, determined to leave his mark.
A few of the local fighters will be supported in their corners by pro-EFC fighter Martin de Beer.
Garage Boys was started in 2005. It is headed up by Tienie de Beer, a specialist in boxing, black belt shotokan karate and MMA.
The Zululand MMA Fight Championships is just one of the many adrenalin-pumping activities taking place at the Trade Fair this year.
Other highlights include: stunt jumps, stuntmen setting themselves on fire, V8 hotrod sprints and drifting. See you there!
