GRANTLEIGH sweeper Chené van Wyk hammered the ball into the back of Felixton College’s goal box with only two minutes to go to secure victory for her team in Sunday’s SPAR KZN Regional School Girls Hockey Challenge finals at Grantleigh.
The goal not only kept her side’s unbeaten run in the tournament intact, but also handed her team their second consecutive title.
Grantleigh beat Mandini 6-0, Empangeni High School 1-0 and St Catherine’s 1-0 in their pool games before progressing to the semi-finals, where they ousted Richards Bay High 1-0 to progress to the finals.
