Triggiani scoops top swim award

Swimmers rewarded for season's achievements

DANIEL Triggiani’s strict training regime paid off as he bagged the Fish Eagles Swimmer of the Year award at the annual prize giving ceremony at the Zululand Yacht Club on Saturday evening.

The Richards Bay Christian School ace also bagged the De Vries Jewellers Stroke Trophy for the best 200 individual medley male swimmer, the Bay Jewellers Stroke Trophy for the best freestyle swimmer and the Empangeni ASC Trophy as the club’s Senior Victor Ludorum.

Another talented young swimmer who featured on the night was Tasha du Toit, who picked up the Dreyer Trophy for the girls 16 year age group, the Zululand Sports Centre Stroke Trophy for best female freestyle swimmer and the uMhlathuze Valley Sugar Trophy as the club’s Senior Victrix Ludorum.

Before the awards were handed out, a new committee was elected at the AGM for the 2017/18 season: Erika du Plessis (Chairperson), Angeline Mkhize (Vice Chairperson), Louise Moor (Secretary), Amanda Ludick (Treasurer), Lizelle Smith (PR and Marketing Officer), Quinton Harris (Swimmers, Coaches and LTS Rep), Gail Bohler (Development and Classified Swimmers Rep), Sonja van Ryswyk (Kit Officer) and Engela Jansen (Records Officer),
