THE Easter weekend Bonanza fishing competition got off to the worst possible start yesterday when no deep sea boats were permitted to launch owing to the terrible weather conditions.
While bay boats were able to begin their contest, there was huge disappointment at the host Richards Bay Ski boat Club, where members have worked long and hard in preparation for this angling season highlight.
As predicted, the southwester screamed in, bringing with it choppy seas and a cold wind – and things don’t look like getting much better over the next 48 hours.
Spare a thought also for the small fleet of yachts that should have left for Richards Bay today on the annual Inhaca island cruise and are also at the mercy of the elements..
