Thanda Royal Zulu aim for three home points

Amabhubesi aim to sink Santos on Sunday

THANDA Royal Zulu will be looking at nothing less than a resounding win when they take on Santos FC at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Sunday (kick-off at 3pm).

The Cape side occupy last place on the 16-team National First Division log, having won just three and drawn nine of their 21 games to date.

To their credit, they have only conceded 25 goals, but their attack has been woeful, with a mere 14 shots finding the back of the net.

To the contrary, Thanda have scored 38 and leaked only 17 thus far, making it a no-brainer for any wager on the outcome.

But Santos are fighting for survival and will employ every tactic in (and out) the book to at least share the spoils.

By the time the whistle blows to start the match, log leaders Thanda (44 points) will know the positions of the chasing pack after a full house of seven games on Saturday.

Nearest challengers Black Leopards (36) have a tricky away clash with unpredictable FC Cape Town, but should get the win.

Stellenbosch (34) will find the going tough against AmaZulu (29), while Royal Eagles (33) should have it all their own way against destined-for-the-drop Magesi.

Mthatha Bucks (32) travelling to Mbombela (26), Jomo Cosmos (30) versus Cape Town All Stars, and Witbank Spurs (30) hosting Pretoria University (29) will all be watched with keen interest.

But if the Amabhubesi keep accumulating points, what the rest do is all academic.

Sunday should see a routine three points in their relentless march to PSL promotion.
