Empangeni wins the 71st Flya Sportswear Bozas Cup title for 2017

AFTER a full day of third-division rugby at the eShowe Sports Club, Empangeni emerged as the winners of the 71st Flya Sportswear Bozas Cup on Saturday.

This is the 19th Bozas Cup win for Empangeni, the last being a two-year run in 2010/2011.

The 20 minute per half final saw Hluhluwe locking horns with Empangeni who were 5-0 up at half time.

There was no further score and Empangeni took the title, with Hluhluwe taking second place.

There were no plate or bowl competitions this year.

Melmoth were awarded a full kit comprising jerseys, shorts and socks by Flya Sportswear for the determined, never-give-up attitude against all odds.

Carel Swart (Empangeni) and Sanele Mtshali (Esikhaleni) were named the backline and forward players of the tournament respectively.
