eShowe gears up for 71st Bozas Cup

Great Bozas Cup expected next month

WITH just less than a month to go, the organisors of the 71st Flya Sportswear Bozas Cup rugby tournament are looking forward to welcoming the 10 teams that will be part of the great day of rugby.

On Saturday, 18 March, eShowe will be hosting Mandini, uShaka Warriors, Unizulu, Esikhaleni, Hluhluwe, Green Bottle Ballies, Empangeni, Richards Bay and the Crusader Top Guns.

The tournament will start with a team manager briefing at 7.30am and the first game is expected to kick-off at 8am.

The pool games will be played over 10 minutes per half.

A feature of the day is the Junior Development Tournament being put together by Rob van Tooren and his team.

This will run parallel with the Bozas Cup and will also start at 8am sharp.

Floodlights

The eShowe Rugby Club is grateful to the uMlalazi Municipality which has pulled out all the stops to ensure the floodlights are operational for the Bozas Cup.

The lights were stolen on numerous occasions last year.

The club has had to curtail their practices due to the lack of lights, but are confident that the team will be firing by the time they take to the field on 18 March.

Besides a food tent manned by Sunset Spur and bar facilities by the eShowe Sports Pub, there will also be other stalls selling specialty items such as biltong.

Entry to the main sports field is R50 per vehicle, while the parking in the parking lot is free.

A reminder that no alcohol may be brought into the premises.
