Hyundai i20 Motion now more automatic

Hyundai SA has bolstered its i20 range with the addition of an automatic gearbox for the mid-range Motion model

LAUNCHED just over two years ago now, Hyundai SA has bolstered its i20 range with the addition of an automatic gearbox for the mid-range Motion model.

Supplementing the existing auto box option on the higher spec Fluid, the Motion retains the same 1.4-litre Kappa engine with 74kW and 133Nm of torque, with the four-speed box translating to a claimed combined fuel consumption figure 7.5-litres to 100km and emissions of 160g/km.

Mechanical changes to the rest of the range are unchanged, with the base 1.2 still producing 61kW and 115Nm of torque, while a six-speed manual is standard on all 1.4-litre models.

Spec-wise, the Motion auto boasts a height adjustable driver’s chair, Bluetooth, telescopic steering column, CD player with USB and Aux input, electric windows with one-touch up/down function for the driver, electrically foldable mirrors, rear parking sensors, dual front airbags, follow-me-home headlights and ABS with EBD.

Hyundai’s industry first seven-year/200 000km warranty is standard on all models, with the 1.2 offering a two-year/30 000km service plan and the 1.4 a three-year/60 000km plan.
