Back to drawing board for eShowe

On a field which had a heavy outfield owing to overnight rain, Glenwood's Neil Rock was the top scorer with 72 runs before he was bowled by Michael Abraham

GLENWOOD High School posted a testing target of 157 runs which eShowe Cricket Club could not match in a 50 over pre-season warm-up match on Sunday at the eShowe Sports Club.

On a field which had a heavy outfield owing to overnight rain, Glenwood’s Neil Rock was the top scorer with 72 runs before he was bowled by Michael Abraham.

It was a hard-fought innings with only three boundaries.

Top bowlers for eShowe were Brian Carpenter, who took 3 wickets for 38 runs, and Michael Abraham with 2 wickets for 25 runs.

Grantham Spilsbury (52), Michael Abraham (43) and Malcolm Munro (26) all put on runs for eShowe, but it was not enough as eShowe was dismissed in 45 overs, 32 runs short of the target.
