Turbos on for Thanda

Thanda prepare for testing second half

THERE is absolutely no thought of Thanda Royal Zulu easing up as the second half of the NFD season nears.
Despite their 10 point lead at the top after an unbeaten 15 match run, the Amabhubesi returned to training this week even more committed to bring PSL status to the city and region.

Already Thanda have amassed 35 points and there are still 15 matches to be played before the season ends on 28 May.

Focusing on the job at hand was the theme of the pre-practice motivational talk from Roger Sikhakhane (in blue) on Tuesday as the Amabhubesi warriors prepare for the second half of the season

Significantly, eight of the second round matches will be played at the uMhlathuze Stadium, where Thanda have not dropped a single point during the current campaign.

Last year the league was won with 60 points and it’s hard to see Thanda not reaching this number with ease based on past performance.

However, the job needs to be done and challengers will be coming hard at them from all sides.

But the Amabhubesi are showing incredible steel this season, winning points at all the tough venues.

With the PSL incentive within touching distance – plus the fact that individual futures are also on show – there’s no way the team will slack.

Hopefully the stands will be packed when they host Mbombela United on 12 February.
