uThungulu look to bounce back

RH Construction uThungulu need wake up call

RH CONSTRUCTION uThungulu’s year started off with a stumble, humbled at home by the University of KZN in a Premier League clash at Addison Park on Sunday.

The local side was dismissed for a mediocre 73 in the 25th over, leaving the students an easy target to chase down.

It did not take long for the visitors to surpass the required runs with only three wickets down.

The home side will have to hit the nets hard this week if they want to reverse the outcome of their next game at home on Sunday against Clares.

They have the talent to do so, with bowlers Stephan Joubert, Freedom Buthelezi and Neil Jordan all within the top 10 ranked bowlers in the league.

Top scorer at the weekend, Simon Savides, and Joubert are among the top 12 ranked batsmen in the league.

But these key players will need to find some sort of form after the long festive break.

To make matters a little more tricky, this Sunday is the last home game before playing four games on the road.

uThungulu need to win the next three games before the start of the second round, to make some significant progress up the log.

Sunday’s action at Addison Park starts at 9am.
