RICHARDS Bay rugby referee Marius Jonker has been given two Six Nations TMO appointments for March, no doubt as part of the panel cycle looking ahead to the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Having refereed at every level both locally and internationally, the highly experienced Jonker hung up his whistle at the end of 2014 and is now highly regarded as the man in the TMO hot seat where critical, match-deciding decisions are arbitrated.
His is scheduled to adjudicate in the Italy vs France game in Rome on 11 March and a week later will sit in the box as Scotland host Italy at Murrayfield.
Jonker is the only South African to have received a Six Nations TMO appointment, while Jaco
Peyper and Marius van der Westhuizen have been included on the panel of referees.
