Water frolics in the Bay

The purpose of the event was to introduce swimming while teaching water safety to the children

WATER wings were deflated and sunblock smeared on when young swimmers took to the water at the Meerensee swimming pool on Friday afternoon for the Fish Eagles Swimming Club‘s mini gala.

Competitors aged 3-7 years completed widths with pool noodles, kick boards and free swims under the watchful eyes of coaches.

Once the little ones were finished, children aged 5-12 years lined up on the blocks and completed 25m in all strokes to end the day’s action.

The purpose of the event was to introduce swimming while teaching water safety to the children and allow swimmers to get used to gala rules.

The next mini gala will take place in February.
