Riders beat the heat
The SuperSpar Hluhluwe Rhino Charge was the last opportunity for some of the competitors to pick up vital series points
TEMPERATURES soared into the 40s on Saturday and riders participating in the last race of the Bell Big 5 MTB Series had little time to appreciate the beautiful scenery along the route.
The SuperSpar Hluhluwe Rhino Charge was the last opportunity for some of the competitors to pick up vital series points and they needed to concentrate on the task at hand.
The riders left the Hluhluwe Privaaatskool and rode most of the race in the False Bay Park section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park
The watering tables were kept busy as they re-hydrated riders with much appreciated refreshments.
The names of the top riders in the Big 5 MTB Series will be published in the Zululand Observer’s Weekender next week.
