Fight on for touch rugby titles
All teams will head into the final play-off's at Mick Kelly Park on Saturday
THE battles for top spot in both the men’s and women’s league continue to heat up as the annual McCarthy Toyota Empangeni Rugby Football Club touch rugby season draws to an close on Saturday at Mick Kelly Park.
In the men’s section, Bolt Master, Black Ferns and Vikings are all on 24 log points, with only try difference separating them.
The ladies played their last round of games on Thursday night and the men’s side played the first round of the play-off’s.
After the dust settles, all teams will head into the final play-off’s at Mick Kelly Park on Saturday, with action getting underway from 12.30pm.
The men’s section will run as follows – top four teams compete for the cup, teams five to eight for the plate, teams nine to twelve for the bowl and the last team receiving the wooden spoon award.
In the ladies’ section. the top four teams compete for the cup, teams five and six for the plate, teams seven and eight for the bowl and the last team receiving the wooden spoon award.
There will be stalls on finals day, run by the Zululand Hospice Association, and a pageant show for various ages in the hall, where the 2016 Miss Hospice Zululand will be crowned.

Purple Ferns beat Ejimini 3-0.
Mean Machine beat Angels 2-1.
Tiny Bubbles beat Select Sports 9-1.
Mistfits drew to Tigers 0-0.
