Local gymnasts claim SA crowns

They managed to beat 22 groups in their section to claim the SA title

BAY rhythmic gymnast Ella-May Claassen was crowned SA champion in the U9 Level 5 category after taking gold while representing KZN at the South African Gymnastics Games in Cape Town.

The young talent claimed three firsts in three apparatuses to claim the overall win.

The Bay Rhythmic hoop group girls, Claassen, Faith Mathenjana, Jordynn Preen and Natasha Brown performed a flawless routine and were rewarded with gold medal for their efforts.

They managed to beat 22 groups in their section to claim the SA title.

To add to these achievements, the following Bay rhythmic gymnastics girls placed in the top 10 at the prestigious competition – Pinkette Phewa (fifth in Level 5 rope U13), Faith Mathenjana (fifth in clubs, 9th in ball and 9th overall in Level 6 U13) and Natasha Brown (ninth in hoop Level 6 U15).
