MCCARTHY Toyota Empangeni Rugby Football Club touch league log leaders Bolt Master (men) suffered their first defeat of the competition when going down 2-1 to Vikings.
Purple Ferns (ladies) continued with their fine form, beating Tigers 13-0 on Thursday evening at Mick Kelly Park.
The competition this year is tough in both sections, with Purple Ferns, Tiny Bubbles (defending champions) and Mean Machines all in with a shout in the ladies’ section, and Black Ferns (defending champions), Bolt Master, Vikings and Phumula Lodge all giving each other a run for their money in the men’s section.
