Empangeni cricketers too strong

Empangeni's Simon Savides scored 17 runs (not out) and Stephan Joubert 19 runs

THE Empangeni Sports Club proved too strong for eShowe in their season’s opening 45-over Weber Cup cricket clash.

They dismissed eShowe for 70 runs, which proved way off the mark and the target was reached comfortably with the loss of six wickets.

Top scorer for eShowe was Snorky Spilsbury (21 runs) and Shaun Mostert (15 runs).

For Empangeni, Stephan Joubert took four wickets off seven overs, conceding nine runs.

In reply, Empangeni’s Simon Savides scored 17 runs (not out) and Stephan Joubert 19 runs.

Top bowlers for eShowe were Neil Hancock, who took three for 22 runs off seven overs, and Mohaamed Ali who took two wickets for 14 runs off five overs.
