Rugby Club squashes competition

Local squash players will have a short break before taking part in the McCarthy Toyota Business League

EMPANGENI Rugby Club claimed their 10th Nashua Zululand Squash Winter League title on Tuesday evening, losing only one match during the season.

The league’s prize-giving ceremony for the first and second leagues was held at the Empangeni Country Club.

Empangeni Country Club B claimed the second league title after also losing only one match, finishing on top of the log with 167 points.

Tiaan van Wyk and Alex Tulleken were rewarded for their form when they shared the Best Player award in the first league.

Dave McQuire picked up the Best Player award in the second league.

Local squash players will have a short break before taking part in the McCarthy Toyota Business League.

The popular league starts on Wednesday, 21 September and will be played at the Empangeni Country Club and Empangeni Rugby Club squash courts.

The entry fee is R85 per player, with entries closing on Wednesday, 7 September.
