RICHARDS BAY’S Bridgitte Hartley missed out going through to the 2016 Olympics 200m women’s canoe sprint by four hundredths of a second.
Hartley placed third with a time of 41.698 bhind Slovakian Martina Kohlova (41.231) and Inna Osipenko-Rodomska of Azerbaijan (40.702) in the fourth heat of the quarter-finals earlier today, giving her the ticket to compete in the semis.
She again finished third in the first semi-final with a time of 41.478, but China’s Yu Zhou who placed fifth in the second semi-final with a time of 41.017, edged her out of the final spot in the A Final by just 0.461 seconds.

Hartley will be in action again in the 500m sprint race on Wednesday.
