Charl and Jan bag victory
Charl Groenewald and Jan Erasmus bagged 53 points to win the day.
GOLFERS last week flocked to the Richards Bay Country Club with the hopes of hitting a hole-in-one and driving home in a brand new car at the Midbay Citroën golf day.
But none of the 144 participants could find the magic stroke on the par 3 8th to claim the grand prize.
Competitors followed a Better Ball Scramble Drive format over 18 holes, which means that all four individuals tee-off, and the second shot gets played off one’s partners best drive.
Charl Groenewald and Jan Erasmus managed to conform well to this format and bagged 53 points to win the day.
Andre Louw and Steve Rivett were close on their heels, finishing second with 51 points.
John Smith and Hugo du Preez had to settle for a third place on a count-out with 51 points.
This was the last of this year’s Midbay Series.
