Proteas ranked 4th in ODI’s

After three losses and one ‘no result’ in the West Indies, South African cricket rankings have taken a drop

SOUTH Africa dropped to number four in the ICC One Day International rankings, after three losses and one ‘no result’ in the West Indies.

The SA side now joins India on 110 points – but falls behind Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s side when the points are calculated beyond the decimal point.

World champions Australia retain their number 1 ranking following their 58-run victory over the West Indies in the final of the Tri-Series played in Barbados on Sunday.

New Zealand trail behind them by a mere two points.

The Tri-Series aided the West Indies rankings, who now sit six points above eighth-ranked Pakistan.

England and Sri Lanka are currently in the middle of their ODI series, but the Brits need to win the series to strengthen their fifth placed ranking, or Sri Lanka may leap frog them and claim fifth spot.

Great news for SA speed bowler Kagiso Rabada, is that he jumps into seventh place alongside compatriot Dale Steyn in the ODI bowling rankings.

The youngster jumped up six places after his fine performance in the Tri-Series.
