EMPANGENI and Richards Bay Country Club golfers vied for the bragging rights at their respective club championships at the weekend.
Players were divided into three divisions – the A Division (handicaps scratch – 9), B Division (handicaps 10 – 17) and C Division (handicaps 18 and above).
Players competed over 18 holes on both days, following a medal strokeplay format.
Etienne Steenkamp was crowned Empangeni club champion after his dominance in the A Division on both days, with N Sevesanker crowned the Richards Bay champion after finishing with 148 gross in the A Division.
Both clubs had huge turnouts from members and the courses were in good condition despite the drought.
