RH Construction uThungulu win on the road

RH Construction uThungulu picked up a crucial bonus point victory over Chatsworth United on Sunday in Durban, which helped the local outfit cement their second place spot on the Premier League log.

The local outfit won the toss and elected to bat first.

Openers Stephan Joubert (35) and Eugene Zwart (14) got the team off to a decent start, before both batsmen were caught after playing the wrong shot.

Lower order batsman Otto Rode (32), Dale van der Merwe (18), Johnty van den Berg (11) and Trevor Kietzmann (12) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures in the team’s mediocre total of 177 all out.

But thanks to a solid team effort in the field, the home side were dismissed for 106 in the 30th over, to hand uThungulu a dominant 71 run victory.

Spinner Stephan Joubert 3/8 in 3, speed merchant Darryn Dupavillon 3/13 in 5.2, and Otto Rode 2/18 in 7 aided the team to a comfortable victory.

RH Construction uThungulu will take on seventh placed Topham at DHS Old Boys on Sunday in their next match.
