Miller time for T20 series

Proteas shift focus to shortest version of the game

WITH the test series and ODI series done and dusted, the Proteas will now shift their focus to the two T20 matches against England, with the first one starting on Friday.

With the T20 World Cup just around the bend, these two matches will allow a sneak preview for spectators, coaching staff and other countries on what the Proteas will bring to the tournament in India.

The short version of the game suits 26-year-old David Miller, who can change a game within a few balls.

But the downside, is that Miller was a spectator for the ODI series and has not had game time since  January 29.

With an out of sorts JP Duminy, and Rilee Rossouw failing in the ODI decider, Miller seems to be the man for the job.

He will look to put his hand up in the SA A game today against England at Boland Park.

The Proteas will play England on Friday at Newlands, Cape Town at 6pm and then at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday 21 February at 2.30pm to end the long English tour to SA.

The Proteas will then head into a testing and challenging T20 series against Australia, before leaving to India for the World Cup.

Fixtures for Australia series are as follows

• Friday 4 March at Kingsmead, Durban at 6pm.

• Sunday 6 March at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg at 2.30pm.

• Wednesday 9 March at Newlands, Cape Town at 6pm.
