RH Construction uThungulu unlucky to go down by 1 wicket

IN a top-of-the-log Premier League cricket clash between RH Construction uThungulu and Crusaders played in Durban on Sunday, the home team claimed a narrow one wicket victory in an nail-biting ‘clash of the titans’ encounter.

After four consecutive home victories, uThungulu headed out to the middle bursting with confidence.

Simon Savides found the boundary three times in his innings of 44 and left-hand opener Stephan Joubert hit five fours in his innings of 36 to steer uThungulu to 185/8 in 50 overs.

In reply Crusaders batsmen M Nethercott (41) and M Lamb (29) top scored for their side, who managed to reach the total in the 48th over.

Otto Rode 2/46 in 9 and Neill Jordan 1/14 in 6 were the pick of the uThungulu bowlers.

The local side will head back to the drawing board and have a solid net session before taking on Chatsworth at Tills in Durban on Sunday in their next clash.
