Harrison smashes a ton to lead Umfolozi to victory

UMFOLOZI’S Ronald Harrison smashed the leather to all parts of the Felixton cricket field on Saturday during his innings of 110 not out against Felixton.

This in a first division Saturday 24 over 8-ball game, which saw Umfolozi claim a comprehensive 149 run victory.

Harrison dispatched the ball numerous times to the boundary, hitting a couple of maximum’s on his way to a ton.

Playing on the top field at Felixton did not make matters easy, as fetching the ball in the sugar cane on the other side of an electric fence is not fun.

The visitors headed out to the middle first and scored at an impressive 8.5 runs per over, which saw the team end on 273/5 after their 24 overs.

The home side’s bowling figures did not look pretty and they knew they needed something special to pull this game off.

Unfortunately things did not go Felixton’s way and they were dismissed for 124 to hand Umfolozi a well deserved victory.

Felixton will take on Empangeni Rugby Club at Addison Park on Saturday, with Umfolozi taking on eSikhaweni in their next encounter.
