Rain stops play at Oval Track

Racing fans can look forward to hot racing action on 26 December in Richards Bay

OVAL Track fans were disappointed on Saturday night as sudden showers forced organisers to put a stop to racing for the night.

As all the classes did not have the opportunity to race, no results are available from the meet.

During a clean-up after a serious crash in the first race between two debut female racers, rain began to pour down in buckets.

Fortunately, both racers escaped without serious injury, but the track was soon flooded.

Both ladies were transported to hospital by Netcare 911 and Meditrax EMS respectively and were discharged the same night.

Fans need not be disappointed as on Saturday 26 December, the fumes of glory will again waft over the tarmac of the race track.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 4pm and will include visitors from other clubs as well as the much anticipated Super Midgets.

‘We will have a good field of Hotrods, 2.1litre Modifieds, Pintos, 1660 Saloons, Stockrods, Ninja Midgets and Super Saloons taking to the track,’ said organiser, Michelle Loosemore.
