Currie and Strauss take home the bragging rights
Port Shepstone's Lizzie Currie and Kim Strauss won the KZN Ladies Inter Club Championships this weekend.
THE KZN Ladies Inter Club Championships saw 198 ladies from across the province competing at the Empangeni Country Club from Thursday through to Saturday.
Golfers contested in the gold, silver and bronze divisions, following a foursomes format over 18 holes.
The gold and silver players followed a foursomes medal format with the bronze following a foursomes stableford format.
With bragging rights up for grabs, the ladies put in a huge cat fight right to the end.
But it was Port Shepstone’s Lizzie Currie and Kim Strauss who took home the KZN Inter Club Championship trophy after playing three days of sensational golf with a gross of 255.
MECC Bronwyn Rae and Vanessa Colby were runners up in the gold division with a 258 gross.
The players enjoyed the course which had slow greens but nice hard and fast fairways.
