Colour walk for Project Rhino KZN

The money was donated to Project Rhino's KZN Zap Wing Division.

A TOTAL of 475 locals braved the morning drizzle for the annual Rhino Walk hosted by St Catherine’s School on Saturday.

Participants dressed in white and purchased chalk packets for the colour festival held for the school’s 60th birthday celebration.

All proceeds from the 2km walk and money raised, which totaled R4 750, was donated to Project Rhino’s KZN Zap Wing Division.

uMhlathuze Bootcamps put the people through their paces aa a warm-up before a large chalk dust war kicked off the colour fest.

School Principal Vanessa Janse van Rensburg then cut the ribbon at the start line to set the walkers on their way.

‘I would really like to thank everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes and on the day to make this event such a success and all the locals for coming out and supporting this worthy event,’ said event organiser Bernie Combrinck.
