COENIE Vermaak picked up the Rugby Player of the Year award at the Richards Bay Rugby Club awards evening on Saturday at the club house.
The inside centre had a solid season, putting up his hand in most games, before he was sidelined with a torn ankle ligament.
The Richards Bay Rugby Club had success with flyhalf JP Rossouw, fullback Jimmy Enslin and hooker Matthew Calitz all playing for the Sharks Rural side at the end of the season.
