Back to drawing board for uThungulu cricket

RH Construction uThungulu will take a break before hosting Crusaders in their premier league opening game at Addison Park next month.

RH CONSTRUCTION uThungulu need to go back to the drawing board and look at key areas of their game and identify what changes need to be made to improve their performances.

This after yet another loss in the Premier League T20 cricketing competition.

After getting their 2015/16 season off to a great start by beating African Warriors away from home in their league opener, the wheels have since fallen off, with losses to Delta, Topham and Berea Rovers.

The side travelled to Durban on Sunday to take on Berea Rovers.

uThungulu padded up first and headed out to the middle with the hopes of posting a respectable target.

Unfortunately the local lads only posted 109/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

All-rounder Ruan van Rensburg (27) and batsman Jason Redinger (24) were the only players to post decent tallies.

The home side reached 110/2 in the 18th over to claim a dominant eight wicket victory and hand the local side their third consecutive loss for the season.

Speedsters Neill Jordan 1/19 in 4 and Johnty van den Berg 1/17 in 2 were the pick of the uThungulu bowling attack.

The T20 league has now come to an end.

uThungulu will take on Crusaders at Addison Park on Sunday, 1 November in their opening 50-over game of the Castle Premier League.
