Start of local club cricket league

Both first and second division teams will begin their 2015/16 cricket season this weekend.

THIS year will see all local club cricketers start the 2015/16 season with the T20 format before heading into the normal Saturday 24-over, 8-ball league.

Division one will see seven teams competing for the title, with Empangeni Rugby Club heading into the competition as defending champions.

Division two will see six teams having a crack at the title.

eSikhaweni, who won division two last season has been promoted to the first division for the new season.

Saturday’s action will see uMfolozi taking on Brackenham at uMfolozi, with eSikhaweni taking on Village at the uMhlathuze Regional Sports Complex A field in division one.

The only second division game will see newbies Kings XI taking on Thandanani at the uMhlathuze Regional Sports Complex B field.

All matches in this competition will get underway from 1pm.

Fixtures for Saturday 17 October

Division 1

Brackenham vs Empangeni Rugby Club at the uMhlathuze Regional Sports Complex A field.

Village vs Richards Bay at Addison Park.

Division 2

Unizul vs eSikhaweni 2 at Unizul.

Thandanani vs Richards Bay 2 at uMfolozi.

uMhlathuze vs Kings XI at uMhlathuze Regional Sports Complex B field.
