Countdown to Bok World Cup squad announcement

Catch the much awaited Springbok RWC squad announcement

WITH five hours to go before Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer announces the much awaited squad that will hopefully bring back the prestigious Webb Ellis Trophy, possible squad predictions have been making their rounds through the media.

Word on the street is that Sharks scrumhalf Cobus Reinach and flanker Marcell Coetzee could be considered surplus to the squad, while Blue Bull players Rudy Paige and Zane Kirchner coming back into the fold.

Meyer has said throughout the year that a team balanced with experience and newcomers on form could be the right recipe for success.

This would see Morne Steyn, Fourie du Preez and Victor Matfield then attending the World Cup.

Exciting news for Bok fans is that Duane ‘Thor’ Vermeulen, Jean de Villiers, Pieter-Steph du Toit and Willem Alberts have recovered in time for the World Cup.

With the new transformation laws breathing down Meyer’s neck, Lwazi Mvovo, Paige, Trevor Nyakane and Siya Kolisi could make their World Cup debut.

One will only know when the writing is set in stone at 5:30pm on SuperSport 6.
