Loads of soccer talent on display

Grantham Park Primary School claimed the Zululand Build It U13 soccer title on Saturday.

GRANTHAM Park Primary School’s (GPPS) right winger Eyethu Mbhethe was the ‘main man’ in the cup final after banging a shot into the top right hand corner of the net.

This beat Shwashweni’s goal keeper to give the host school overall victory at the Zululand Build It U13 Soccer Festival held on Saturday.

GPPS won all three pool matches before beating KwaMonambi 1-0 in the semi-finals to progress to the final.

The host school found the back of the net 10 times in five matches, leaving coaches Sanele Mtshali and Lucky Nyawo pleased with the team’s performance.

The team picked up R10 000 building materials for their school with the trophy and bragging rights.

Entertaining football was played throughout the day, with tight defences seeing only 40 goals being scored in the 64 matches played.
